Corresponde un detonador no eléctrico de alta potencia con intervalos de retardo en milisegundos. Su aplicación está orientada principalmente a secuencias de voladura en superficie.
Los detonadores no eléctricos Exel™ MS están compuestos principalmente por 4 elementos: Cápsula de aluminio, compuesta por una carga primaria de explosivos, una carga secundaria y un tren de retardo. Tubo de señal de color naranja, componente que transmite la señal a la cápsula de retardo. En el momento que el tubo es iniciado, transmite interiormente una onda de choque de baja energía la cual inicia los mixtos de retardo. Esta señal es capaz de desplazarse a través del interior del tubo, sin afectar a ningún agente explosivo u otro accesorio con el cual esté en contacto directo. Etiqueta de retardo, elemento que indica el número de serie MS, su tiempo nominal, el largo del tubo y el número de lote asociado a su fecha de fabricación, entregando al usuario la confiabilidad del proceso de rastreo y/o trazabilidad para cada detonador. Conector J, dispositivo que une el tubo de señal a la línea troncal de cordón detonante.

Aplicación

El detonador Exel™MS provee una serie de tiempos aplicables a voladuras de minería a cielo abierto como subterránea, dado el alto rango de tiempos que caracteriza a esta serie. Este producto inicia directamente tanto boosters como explosivos encartuchados, contándose entre sus beneficios:

  • Mayor control de la voladura a través de una baja dispersión.
  • Producto seguro y fácil de utilizar.

Recomendaciones de Uso

  • No estirar, retorcer o aplicar una tensión indebida al tubo de señal ya que esto podría originar un mal funcionamiento.
  • Usar el producto más antiguo almacenado en los polvorines.
  • Este producto puede ser utilizado en ambientes de alta humedad y abrasión.
  • Se recomienda no cortar el tubo debido a que la humedad podría penetrar impidiendo la iniciación.
